What is hypnosis? and other FAQs
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a powerful state of focused awareness that can be used to decipher and dissolve the root cause of many issues – it’s a very relaxed state where creativity and insight flourish. Hypnosis allows you to access the subconscious mind and all of its inherent healing resources. Your subconscious influences how you think, feel, and behave. In a hypnotic state, we can release what is unwanted and relearn positive ways of being.
Hypnosis is a natural way to make profound shifts with greater ease than many other methods. It has been sanctioned and used by the medical community since 1958.
How does hypnosis work?
When you enter a deeply relaxed, hypnotic state of focused awareness, you bypass the mind’s analytical tendency. This analytical aspect is a comparing mechanism we use in day-to-day life, evaluating new information compared to what we already believe is true or false.
This is why making shifts by willpower alone is so difficult. The subconscious holds a belief, the analytical mind compares this belief with the change we want to make, and renders willpower ineffective if there is a discrepancy.
Hypnosis works directly with the subconscious level without the influence of the analytical aspect of the mind. New, healthy and beneficial suggestions can be given to the subconscious without the analytical aspect rejecting these new beliefs. The changes we want to achieve in our life are accepted by the subconscious mind as true, and results are seen quickly.
Is hypnosis safe?
Hypnosis is a safe, normal, and common state of mind we go into naturally every day. Remember how you feel when daydreaming, taking in a good movie or book, and getting swept away in music – you regularly enter hypnosis in these situations. You are awake, aware, and in control during these activities, just as you are when working with a hypnotist.
Can I be hypnotized?
Yes, of course! Hypnosis is a normal and natural state of mind that everyone has already experienced. It is so normal that most people don’t even realize they are hypnotized. All you need to do to go into a state of hypnosis with me is be willing and able to follow gentle instructions for reaching a state of relaxed, focused awareness.
